Grattan Computers Ltd. was founded in 1994 to
provide IT services to a variety of industries including Construction, Tool
Hire, Galvanising, Logistics and Distribution.
In recent years, it main focus has been in
the development of Bar-Codes solutions to streamline data transfer operations
in factory floor and machine shop environments. Grattan Computers have designed
a software system that will allow the secure transfer of machine program files
from a central server to the individual machine centres. This is a simple
system that downloads the machine programs needed to machine a part based on a
bar code which is scanned at the machine centre. This will eliminate the need
for machine programs to be transferred using DNC, Disc or other removable media
and will ensure that the program files on the machine centre are an exact
replica of those stored on the central server.
About The Promoter
Frank graduated in 1987 with a BSc degree in
Applied Computing from WIT. Since then he has been involved in the development
of bespoke software systems for a variety of companies both industrial and
commercial. He has recently completed an MSc in Communications Software at the
WIT to enable him provide a more comprehensive range of software solutions.
